Dr. Dele Ogunleye (he/him)
Medical Director

Dr. Ogunleye has practiced medicine in different countries on diverse continents. After attending medical school in Nigeria, he went on to train and practice in England, where he formed a foundation of collaboration, appreciation, and respect between midwives and obstetricians. He learned from and alongside midwives while attending births both in and out of the hospital. After training as an obstetrician in England, Dr. Ogunleye completed a second residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he started a CNM program. He currently practices as an OB/GYN in Bloomington, IL, and maintains an Ohio medical license.

His experience with assisting thousands of babies into the world has helped shape his understanding that birth is a physiological process and, a majority of the time, needs minimal to no medical intervention. This philosophy has led him to work with like-minded people to open free-standing birth centers in Illinois, Oregon, Florida, Ohio, and North Carolina.
